Mark Pugh and his Team adore it when couples plan their wedding all by themselves, and that was the case with Jess and Nick, who took self-planned weddings to an entirely new level.
The couple chose to marry in the church near Jess’ family home, and held their wedding reception in a beautiful marquee on Jess’s family farm.
THE DAY OF THEIR WEDDING
Mark Pugh joined bride Jess at her parent’s farmhouse on the morning of her wedding.
The house was bustling with activity, as everyone was busily readying themselves for one very special day. As is so often the way, there was an air of complete calm over the proceedings, and there were no visible nerves.
Mark then took the short drive down to Boothby Pagnell church where the ceremony was to be held. Whilst he was settling in, he met the lovely Lisa the Harpist who was providing accompaniment to the wedding ceremony and the wedding reception.
A tractor with a large trailer containing seating for all of Nick and Jess’ friends and family made its way down the road from the farm towards the church. After the guests had disembarked, a white horse-drawn carriage from Ostler's made its way towards the church with Jess and her father on board.
They took the short walk through the churchyard and into the church when Nick was nervously waiting for her. After a beautiful ceremony, Mark Pugh lined up all of the guests along the church path for a series of wonderful confetti photographs.
One of Mark Pugh’s former grooms, Tom, was a guest at the wedding, and released his confetti at the perfect moment, as you will see from the confetti photograph below. Jess’ grandmother had her special opportunity to sprinkle confetti over the happy couple. Mark then took a small number of guests away for their formal photography session in front of the church, before everyone got back onto the tractor-bus to take them to Great Wood Farm where the wedding reception was to be held.
To say Jess and Nick had completely transformed the field at her parent’s farm was an understatement. In addition to an extensive marquee, the couple had provided a wide range of entertainments for their wedding guests. Upon arrival, everyone enjoyed a glass of Pimms and took part in a range of games including skittles and croquet.
In the lobby area of the marquee, Jess had created something truly wonderful; a work of art utilising items found from around her home to create a table seating plan set amongst objects that had significant meaning to them.
Mark Pugh gathered all of the guests together for their main group photograph before the line-up into the Wedding Breakfast. Fiona Herbert Catering were on-hand to provide a range of exquisite food and drink for all of the guests to enjoy, all supported by their usual outstanding service.
With the Wedding Breakfast and speeches complete, Mark Pugh took the couple away for a brief NewlyWED love session in the woods to the rear of the field, and by this time, the groom’s party were more than happy to venture out into the field for a series of hilarious photographs.
As Mark Pugh left the couple after their cake-cut and first dance, the hog roast was well underway.
Jess and Nick are a lovely couple, and it was a privilege for Mark Pugh to capture their special day, especially when they had put so much time and effort into the little details that make their day so wonderful.
You really do get out as much effort as you put in.
Congratulations!
It has been difficult to decide which images we should share, as their beautiful wedding photography collection contains over 400 images. However, Mark Pugh's Team have decided to share 200ish photographs on behalf of www.markpugh.com, and these can be viewed below.
As always, enjoy.
