Today, we are delighted to share the beautiful Hazel Gap Barn wedding of Elloise and Ben captured by www.markpugh.com.
If you're a regular reader of our blog, you may recall Elloise and Ben's 'Up' themed preWED session in Clumber Park a few weeks ago. Shortly after their beautiful, and very creative, preWED, Mark Pugh captured their wedding at a brand-new venue, Cripps Hazel Gap Barn.
THE DAY OF THEIR WEDDING
Mark joined groom Ben at his parent's house where he was getting ready for the most special of days. Mark took the time to chat with all of his family and capture card openings, presents being handed-out, and lots of other detail, including the groom's attire.
With the groom preparations complete, he took the very short journey to Elloise's bridal preparation venue, The Ulvers in Cuckney. This stunning luxury B&B provided the perfect backdrop for Elloise and her many bridesmaids to get ready ahead of the wedding ceremony. Again, Mark took the time to capture the venue and all of the detail including hair and make-up, the dress, shoes and perfume.
As the Rolls Royce arrived to take Elloise to Cripps Hazel Gap Barn, Mark departed ahead of her to capture the venue as guests were arriving. Hazel Gap is a brand-new wedding venue, and boasts a stunning main hall for wedding ceremonies and dancing, and a light and airy restaurant and bar area with extensive courtyard. The venue sits in a rural location offering complete privacy.
As all of the guests started to arrive, everything smelt 'new' as they took their seats, surrounded by hundreds of candles.
Mark said: "Photographing in such a dark space is technically challenging, but it was a privilege to have been commissioned to capture Elloise and Ben's wedding knowing this is a new venue."
With everyone in position and Ben waiting nervously at the end of the aisle, Elloise took the long walk from the back of the hall towards him with her father, accompanied by her friend on the piano, naturally playing the theme from 'Up'.
With the ceremony complete, there was just time to head outside for a large group photograph before it rained, and everyone adjourned to the bar for their drinks and canapés. Mark took advantage of the spacious hall to capture a series if group photographs before guests were called through into the dining area for their wedding breakfast.
It is hard to overstate how much effort and detail Elloise and Ben had put in to their wedding. There was a typewriter, custom mail box, hanging lights and books, as well as a book-themed cake. Each table was named after a famous book, and these photos hopefully convey the sheer amount of effort the couple had gone to.
With the speeches complete, the weather cleared-up a little, and Mark was able to take the couple outside for a series of romantic newlyWED photos before their evening guests arrived for the disco.
Elloise and Ben's wedding was a memorable occasion, and it was lovely for www.markpugh.com to have been able to spend time in their company at such a special venue.
Congratulations Elloise and Ben!
The firstLOOK image preview selection process in the MP photoSTUDIO becomes difficult each time, as with each wedding that is photographed, Mark Pugh delivers more amazing imagery for his team to feature. However, it is always a complete joy to review the wedding photography collection before the collection is finalised, and MP's Team are delighted to share the story captured throughout our client's special day.
Their final wedding photography collection will contain 400 plus images. However, we have decided to share 170ish firstLOOK image previews on behalf of www.markpugh.com, and these can be viewed below. We will share additional image previews soon.
As always, enjoy.

ABOUT THEIR WEDDING VENUE CRIPPS HAZEL GAP BARN
Hazel Gap Barn is a gem of a building on the Welbeck Estate in Nottinghamshire. The Barn is set on its own in lovely countryside some distance away from the well-visited Welbeck Village.
Two traditional red brick farm buildings – the Barn itself and the Farmhouse – stand either side of a walled farmyard, now a stunning courtyard with a fountain, benches, trees and planters, sheltered from the wind and perfect for post-ceremony drinks. At night, this is a magical place with flares, fire-pits and lovely lighting.
The Farmhouse and Barn are fronted with two rather unusual and striking towers with wonderful tall arched entrances, providing a dramatic view to approaching guests. Between these runs the original farm wall, forming the front of the courtyard, while at the rear a new Oak Room forms the link between the barn and farmhouse, containing both a light-filled dining room with country views across the lawn and into the woods, and a fabulous bar opening into the courtyard.
The Barn has been re-roofed with traditional oak timbers, and a fireplace, fairy lights and giant candelabra have been added to make the most perfect Ceremony Room. After the evening meal, this room will be transformed into the dance floor.
The Farmhouse has been converted into professional kitchens and guest loos which will be accessible from the Dining Room.
Hazel Gap Barn have a Civil Ceremony Licence for both the Barn and the Oak Room.
