Today, we are delighted to share the beautiful wedding of Vickie and John captured by www.markpugh.com.
Vickie and John's wedding featured 'detail to max', and every single element of their special day had been considered at their stunning reception venue in the heart of the Vale of Belvoir.
THE DAY OF THEIR WEDDING
Mark Pugh joined bride Vickie in her room at The Chequers at Woolsthorpe to capture her bridal detail and preparations.
Mark said: "Wherever possible, I use this time to also capture the dining room in all its glory and in the case of Vickie and John's wedding, all of the outdoor amusements they had organised for their guests. It was also a treat to be able to work with Jenny Knight from Jenny's Flower Barn once again - her professionalism, skill and attention to detail are incredible."
Mark headed over to one of his favourite churches, All Saints at Barrowby-on-the-Hill near Grantham. This beautiful church sits atop a huge hill and has commanding views over Nottinghamshire and the Vale of Belvoir. With their beautiful ceremony complete it was time to return to The Chequers.
The couple had hired a Citroen 2CV and VW Minibus to travel to and from the ceremony, and the vehicles provided a special backdrop for photographs. The couple returned with their guests to the Chequers at Woolsthorpe, which remains one of Mark Pugh's favourite venues in the Vale of Belvoir: "I always enjoy seeing Jo and her team at The Chequers, the ambience, food, drink and location simply cannot be beaten. The Chequers also has rooms to allow visitors a base to explore the beautiful countryside of the Vale of Belvoir and sits in the shadow of the famous castle which is the home of the Duke and Duchess of Rutland."
The couple had organised so much for their guests to see and do, including Jenga, a sack race, skittle alley, giant outdoor photobooth an ice cream bike and a fantastic band. Each table was themed around a different kind of biscuit, which was much appreciated by the guests! Other small details included a 'pimp your prosecco stand, a decorated bike, milk urns and all kinds of creative signage.
After their afternoon tea themed meal was complete, it was time for a series of hilarious speeches, which unfortunately, we are not able to mention here. The room was swiftly turned around for the evening guests who had started to arrive. Vickie's sister sang one of the opening numbers accompanied by the band as the evening function got underway.
Vickie and John were so much fun to work with, and we're really pleased to be able to share this stunning selection of wedding image previews from their incredible wedding.
Mark said: "Unlike some photographers, there is no 'upper limit' on the number of photographs I supply, so if you've put the effort into your wedding and have lots of detail, I will supply you with lots of beautiful photographs!"
Congratulations Vickie and John!
Their final wedding photography collection will contain 400 plus images. However, we have decided to share 100ish firstLOOK image previews on behalf of www.markpugh.com, and these can be viewed below.
We will share additional image previews soon.
As always, enjoy!

ABOUT THE CHEQUERS AT WOOLSTHORPE-BY-BELVOIR
Imagine the quintessential English inn. What do you see? An idyllic rural setting? A cricket pitch in the grounds? A wide selection of fine ales and exquisite food? A roaring log fire and cosy atmosphere?
The Chequers at Woolsthorpe-by-Belvoir has all of these, and more, and is the perfect place to unwind with friends and enjoy a drink.
With its four bedrooms, it is the perfect base to explore the unspoilt beauty of the Vale of Belvoir, or to end the day after visiting Belvoir Castle which can be seen from the grounds.
A word of advice: The pub gets very busy in summertime, so it is important to book well in advance if you would like to stay or eat the award winning cuisine
There is a sizable beer garden and a large dining area for weddings and larger functions. Despite all of this space, The Chequers always feels cosy, warm and intimate, and it is for this reason it is on our list of highly recommended places to visit and stay in the Vale of Belvoir.
