Today, we are delighted to share Harriet and Jack's wedding day story on our beautiful wedding blog as we only shared a few image previews in the past. Their stunning wedding photography collection was captured by Mark Pugh of www.markpugh.com with Pam from MP Media assisting on the day.
THE DAY OF THEIR WEDDING
Mark Pugh's first port-of-call was Jack’s hotel in Newark www.grangenewark.co.uk, where he and his family were all dressed and ready to
go.
Mark Pugh took the group into the beautiful gardens of the Grange Hotel for a few family portraits. Jack is a farmer, and his immaculately turned-out Landrover Defender, complete with the requisite ribbons, served as additional wedding transport. This wasn’t the last time the farming theme would be evident, as we were to discover.
Mark Pugh's next stop was to join bride Harriet at her home which was conveniently situated across the road from Cromwell Church where she would marry Jack.
As is so often the case with bridal preparations, everything was cool, calm and collected and MP didn’t see any stress throughout. Jenn Edwards provided her expert hair and make-up skills to the proceedings, and Mark Pugh took the opportunity to cross the road to see their lovely florist Jenny from the Flower Barn at Cromwell Church attaching beautiful creations to the end of each pew.
Back at her parent’s home, Harriet had changed into her very special wedding dress. She designed the dress herself, and a local dressmaker www.suegilbertdesigns.co.uk turned her creation into reality.
With Cromwell Church in such close proximity, Harriet took the short walk across the road with her father and bridesmaids.
With their beautiful ceremony complete, there was time for a handful of formal photographs outside Cromwell Church before heading to the reception venue at Kelham House Country Manor Hotel, www.kelhamhouse.co.uk.
Kelham House Country Manor Hotel in Newark, UK remains one of our favourite wedding venues. This stunning venue is only made available on an ‘exclusive use’ basis, and provides every amenity including overnight accommodation, beautiful grounds, woodland area, various sized rooms with a large dining room and modern bar area.
While the guests enjoyed drinks and canapés, we enjoyed watching Mind Reader, Magician and Entertainer Looch www.looch.co.uk in action. Close-up magicians are a popular and exciting way of providing entertainment at your wedding, and we have had the pleasure of photographing dozens of entertainers over the years. Looch, however, is something completely different, and is in another league altogether.
Forget tricks with decks of cards, Looch uses psychology, body language, and goodness knows what else as part of his show.
Looch expertly worked his way around the busy bar area, wowing the guests with his fantastic skills. People were asked to write random items onto a card… something that Looch would never guess. When he entertained the newlyweds, it’s worth mentioning that Looch was stood on the other side of the room at this stage, and upon his return he was able to ‘guess’ what had been written. Harriet and Jack's reaction was brilliant! And they were both left astonished.
If you’re looking for something beyond a close-up magician who does card tricks, we cannot recommend www.looch.co.uk highly enough.
The dining room at Kelham House Country Manor Hotel had been decorated to perfection.
Each table was named after a breed of cow, and the couple had commissioned ice sculptures from www.globalicesculptures.co.uk which were the centrepiece of each table. Each block of ice contained a sheaf of wheat tied with a ribbon.
Each sculpture lasted hours before they melted, and the couple had a larger ice sculpture with their names carved out. It was something different, and was a beautiful and stylish touch.
With a series of hilarious speeches complete, the time had come for the couple’s first dance, and MP left Kelham House Country Manor Hotel having shared a wonderful day with a very special couple.
Their main wedding photography collection contains over 400 images. However, we have decided to share 100ish images on behalf of www.markpugh.com and these can be viewed below.
As always, enjoy! :-)
